Finance company, Synchrony Home, has waived a $9,000 bill for a Glendale homeowner after a carpet company failed to notify them of the cancellation. John Arnold had his carpet replaced at a cost of almost $9,000 but cancelled the very next day, within the three-day cancellation period stated in the contract. However, the carpet company failed to notify Synchrony Home, who continued to bill Arnold for the full amount. On Your Side, a consumer rights programme, intervened and provided evidence of the cancellation. Synchrony Home then decided to waive the bill and cease pursuing Arnold for payment.
